Accessibility at Incline View Holidays

At Incline View Holidays, we are committed to making our unique shepherd hut experience as enjoyable and welcoming as possible for all our guests. We operate on a working farm in the beautiful North York Moors National Park, and while this rural setting offers incredible peace and natural beauty, it also presents certain inherent challenges to full accessibility.

We aim to be as transparent as possible about our facilities to help you decide if Incline View Holidays is the right choice for your stay.

Overview

Our four luxurious shepherd huts are designed for couples and are nestled within a rural, uneven landscape. Access to and around the huts involves gravel paths and grassed areas, which may be uneven in places and can be affected by weather conditions. Due to the bespoke design and rural nature of our accommodation, our shepherd huts are generally not accessible for wheelchair users.

Detailed Accessibility Information

Parking:

  • Each hut has a designated, private parking space directly next to or very close to the hut.
  • The parking surfaces are concrete sleepers.

Paths and Access to Huts:

  • Paths leading to the huts from the parking spaces are predominantly concrete or grass.
  • These paths may have slight inclines, uneven surfaces, and could become muddy or slippery in wet weather.
  • Access to the huts themselves involves stepping up onto a small decking area.

Shepherd Huts (Lapwing, Barn Owl, Hare, Wren):

  • Entrances: All hut entrances have a steps up onto the decking, and then a threshold into the hut.
  • Interiors: The interior of each hut is compact, designed efficiently for two people.
  • Bed Access:
    • In Lapwing, Barn Owl, and Hare, the double bed is accessed from one side only. There is a step available under the bed.
    • In Wren, the double bed can be accessed from both sides, offering more space around the bed.
  • Bathrooms: All huts have a compact en-suite bathroom with a shower. Showers typically have a small lip/step into the tray.

Specific Recommendation for Mobility Considerations (Wren Hut):

While none of our huts are designed for wheelchair access, if you have some mobility considerations but do not require wheelchair access, the Wren hut is generally the one we would recommend. Its primary advantage is the bed access from both sides, which can make it easier to get in and out of bed for some guests.

Hot Tubs:

  • Each hut has a private outdoor hot tub.
  • Access to the hot tub typically involves stepping up and over the side of the tub. Wren hot tub has steps.

Farm Shop & Vending Machine:

  • Our on-site farm vending machine and Click & Collect point are generally accessible from a solid, level surface. Specific access details can be confirmed upon enquiry.

Visual & Hearing Impairments:

  • The natural light levels in the huts can vary. All huts have internal lighting.
  • We do not currently offer specific adaptations for visual or hearing impairments.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome – please inform us at the time of booking.
